Excursions to the country side which are called "Sahra" are organized with the families and close relatives during the hot Gaziantep summers and springs to get away from the noise and the heat of the city, and to be in the nature. Many people have country homes for weekend getaways. Some of the popular picnic and excursion areas are Düllükbaba, Karpuzatan, Kavaklık, Dutluk, Nafak, Burç Forest, Burç Lake, Buyükşahinbey Town, Körkün Picnic Area, Rumkale, Nizip Karpuzatan Picnic Area and Karapinar.
